Hello Language Artists and their Families!
I hope you are enjoying your long weekend so far. It was a fun locker painting week! I'm so impressed with the incredible artwork on the lockers this year! Nice work, everyone.
Next week, we're going to kick things into gear with a Peer Interview Project (instead of the 3-D Resume, which I've moved to next quarter) and our movie/book trailers for our short stories. With the trailers, students can break into smaller groups within their larger short story groups, or do individual work, or stay in their larger group. For the interview project, students will pair up with someone they don't know as well (assigned by me) in order to practice the speaking, listening, and writing skills used in the interview/article writing process.
We will also work together as a class to craft a more comprehensive way of doing vocabulary and grammar work. We may explore a cool idea called the Interactive Student Notebook. Stay tuned for more information!
I can't wait to see our awesome movie trailers and great interview work. We're getting closer to second quarter, when we'll check out banned/challenged books and much more.
Thanks for being awesome, see you all on Monday!
Ms. Spiegel
