Hello Photographers and their Families!
Thank you for your hard work finishing up the Motion assignment. We will start two new assignments next week, so please complete that work ASAP if you haven't.
On Monday, we will begin exploring Depth of Field, which requires the use of various aperture sizes. As the motion assignment taught us to use our shutter speeds in different ways, the aperture work will help us learn how to use shallow or broad focus. Students will see how the different aperture sizes impact the images they make of their subjects. Subject matter will be entirely up to the students for this assignment.
Additionally, students will produce between 2 and 5 prints during the month of November around the theme of "Home," some of which will be shown in the gallery during the "Home" exhibition.
Capstone students will start working on their Pecha Kuchas, and we will explore research methods, etc. for this. They will also create their own student websites to upload images of their work throughout the year.
Each student will have to decide which prints they want to send to the Scholastic Art Awards. 8th graders will be expected to submit 3 pieces and 7th graders will submit 1. Expect a letter home about these expectations very soon.
Thank you for your continued efforts :)
Please review the Expectations for Classroom, Darkroom, and "Out Shooting" as we dive into our second quarter work.
Enjoy your weekend!
