Hello Photographers and their Families
Let me first start by saying how grateful I am for our beautiful community, and how lucky I feel to have you all in my life. After what happened in Paris this weekend, it is especially important that we band together in solidarity and take a few extra moments to appreciate our loved ones and our privilege. We are all French this weekend, and we all mourn as any human with love in their heart must. Stay strong and don't let fear triumph in your world.
It has been such an honor to see all our young photographers growing and learning - the photographs students are making are phenomenal, and getting better all the time.
This week, we started HOME and Depth of Field (DOF), both of which can be found at the bottom of the Links & Documents page. Students who complete the HOME assignment on time will have a chance to show their work in the gallery and sell their pieces as part of our fundraiser. This is a great opportunity for budding young artists.
Capstone students will have a chance to start their research work for the Pecha Kucha in earnest this week, and they will be expected to choose their photographer if they haven't already.
All seventh grade students should be starting to figure out their one image for the Scholastic Art Awards, and eighth graders should be choosing three.
We have a lot of ongoing projects, and I am so proud of the work I am seeing. It is my hope that we will continue to grow and learn how to take ourselves seriously as photographers and artists. There are several field trips and guest speakers in the works to help make this possible.
Thank you all for your continued work and contribution to our great learning community.
Have a nice Sunday :)
