Hello Photographers and their families!
Thank you to everyone who came to back to school night! It was so great to meet those of you who I met, and I look forward to the opportunity to meet the rest of you soon. If you couldn't make it and you still want to meet me and say hello, please get in touch! My schedule is flexible and I am extremely interested in meeting any and all parents/guardians/family members, etc.
Sorry this post is going to be a short one - I am down in Medford visiting family and then driving to small town called Hugo for a wedding.
We had a good week! Students have begun to shoot their first rolls of film, and many students have already processed film with chemicals. By the end of next week, everyone needs to have taken at least one roll of photos.
Students have been patient while I solve some issues with the darkroom, and we should be able to start using it this coming week. Students who need to print for the Jazz project will take priority.
Don't forget, the Jazz assignment is due on this Friday, September 25th. Students have had a ton of class time to work on drawings/paintings/collages, and have had many opportunities to take pictures as well. I will help students who want to use digital photography, but families should be warned that students may need to spend a little money to get digital photos printed professionally. Right near da Vinci, on 34th and Sandy, Citizens Photo does professional, inexpensive printing of photos. So does Pro Photo in NW Portland. The completed project should be 12x12.
If students need my help printing digitally, I may be able to do some work to help them achieve the results they are looking for. I am trained in Photoshop and have limited access to a digital darkoom for basic printing.
Thank you all for your continued awesomeness.
Have a great weekend :)
Ms. Spiegel
