I hope this crazy weekend has treated you well. Pun intended. It was so rainy yesterday, I hope you all stayed dry if you ventured outside!
Thank you all so much for your hard work this first quarter. I am proud to see the progress you have made so far, and I am excited for our work together as we move into the next phase.Things are going to get more difficult, as students will be expected to hone their skills with the camera and in the darkroom.
Capstone students can expect to start working on both their Research Petcha Kutcha assignment and their artist websites. They will also need to submit 3 pieces to the Scholastic Art Awards. These can be part of their Capstone work. Students will need to pay a fee to submit these works, and I will give you more information about this very soon.
All other students will need to submit 1 piece to the Scholastic Art Awards, and will also pay a small fee. More information to come via email and letter home. Students may submit any photo they choose.
Students NEED to finish the motion assignment ASAP! I know mistakes happen and rolls don't turn out, and I'm not expecting every student to turn in four perfect prints, but I really want to see results happening in this first week of the second quarter. Please look at the assignment description to make sure you are following the instructions. The instructions are very clear - please ask me if you have questions. Check the Links & Documents tab.
Be prepared to start a new assignment soon. We will have guest speakers start coming in this quarter, in addition to having some more in-depth training in specific styles, tips, and tricks. We may take a photography field trip sometime soon, as well.
Students should expect to begin their first Image of the Week for second quarter this week, due Friday 11/06.
Enjoy your Sunday!
